Dr. Alexei Wedmid joined the Urology Group of Princeton in 2011. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College, with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences, Dr. Wedmid went on to earn his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine.
He completed his surgical internship and urology residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in New York City, and then proceeded to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Robotic and Laparoscopic Urology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
During residency and fellowship, Dr. Wedmid published numerous articles in the field of urology and presented at several national and international meetings. His publication focus was primarily in robotic urologic surgery and advancements in robotic technologies.
Dr. Wedmid’s special interests are in robotic cancer surgery, including prostate, kidney and bladder. He specializes in da Vinci robotic surgery for the treatment of benign and malignant oncologic diseases. He values the clinical time with his patients in the office, caring for benign prostate disease, voiding dysfunction, kidney stones, no-scalpel vasectomies, and the treatment of low testosterone and erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Wedmid is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association. He is also a member of the Endourological Society and Ukrainian American Medical Association of North America. He enjoys being back home in his home state of New Jersey with his wife and children.
