Should you develop a problem during office hours that requires immediate attention, our group practice offers you the benefit of having an “on call” physician available for your emergency evaluation who will get back to your shortly. This number is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you call after hours there will be directions for paging the “on-call physician”. If it is a true emergency, you may need to head to the local emergency room, as not all matters can be fully evaluated via a phone call.
Routine prescription refills should be requested via the online portal system. These requests will go directly to your doctor or their nurse, and they will aim to refill your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
Our nursing staff is trained to be responsive to your telephone medical inquiries and confer with the doctors as needed. We experience a high volume of telephone traffic and we ask for your patience and understanding. Routine concerns and messages left will be answered within 1-2 business days. Moreover, routine questions can now be asked via the portal system and thereby streamlined to your physician. If there is an emergency situation, do NOT leave a phone or online portal message, but speak with the front staff directly or head to your local emergency room.
Planning for surgery can be a stressful time. Questions regarding surgical scheduling or information related to other planned outpatient procedures or diagnostic tests should be addressed to your doctor’s nurse. The nursing staff will confer with your doctor as needed and respond to your request.
Routine results are NOT given over the phone, unless prior indicated at your appointment. Most lab results, blood work and urine cultures can be viewed via the online portal. More complex results such as x-rays, imaging tests, pathology and biopsies, require a discussion and are typically addressed at your follow-up office visit.
